Block analysis VS Synthesized analysis.

Here's my dilemma.
My English teacher has told us (my class) to do block analysis for the exam, we've done it the whole year.
On the other hand, Shinny, external assessor Donna Patsch, all the students in other class have told me to do a synthesized analysis - that too i can do.

Seems like a simple choice.

Except for the fact that my english teacher's past classes average a 40% 40+ss for english, with average grades of A on the exam. Block analysis has never failed him... to top that off, his highest achieving student last year got 50 and did a block analysis.

what do i do :S
Is one really better than the other?

Sorry, but what exactly is a block analysis/ synthesized analysis? :-\
I'd like to know which one I use but I've never heard of such terms before lol :/

Block Analysis is a chronological analysis of the article as per say, so analyzing the devices as you see it. If its a long article things tend to get messy with a lot of repetition.

Synthesized analysis is grouping similar devices, similar effects or purposes etc. If it's not done well, it will fail hard.

A good essay is a good essay no matter how it's written. Simple as that. Do what you feel most comfortable with.
