it it possible in general to deduce the phenotypes of all the F2 grains from their appearance. Are there any gamets for which you can write down the genotype for both characteristics. and how can you write down geneotype formula to determine which allele is present.
PLEASE HELP
Phenotype IS based on their appearance. I suspect you mean Genotype. Only time you can conclude the genotype for something based on its appearance is when you are looking at a recessive trait - if it has the recessive phenotype it MUST be homozygous recessive....or if the trait is Co dominance or incomplete dominance - in that case you can determine the genotype of any of them by looking at the phenotype.
Eg Pure white flowers and Pure red flowers are crossed and produce pink flowers (incomplete dominance)
Pure white = WW Pure red = RR Pink flowers = WR
