VTAC & the GAT

Just wondering, are people letting VTAC use their GAT score in the selection process?
Can this disadvantage you if your GAT score wan't so great compared to others? Or is it better to have something?

I'm pretty sure they only use the GAT for if you fall into the middle band. Only then does it become apart of your selection when being compared to other students going for the same course.

If you don't allow them to use the GAT, and you fall into the Middle-Band where the GAT is used to select people, you will not be considered, as it states that the GAT is a "pre-requisite" for middle band selection in the VTAC guide :)

Be careful with this.  The things listed in the middle band section are used to help selection officers re-rank applicants ie they are useful but not essential.  If you've said no to using the GAT it just means that they have one less thing to use in their deliberation - it doesn't mean that you are no longer considered.  I not aware of any course with a GAT pre-requisite (?)

Even if you get an average score of 7 in the GAT (one of my mates did), you will be considered over someone who got 3 40s and didn't disclose their results.
