Trial exam=VCAA exam?

Could it be possible that for the text response and context pieces we could have a prompt that was in a trial exam? Or do they check all trial exams and make sure they don't use their prompt/topics?

You would think that if VCAA have a certain prompt/question ready and a similar one appears on a trial they would change it?
But then again, not every school would buy every exam. And if a student is really prepared, they would be able to answer pretty much every question because they would've seen similar ones before.

Last year the English teachers at my school gave the students a question on their practice exam that was almost identical to one on the exam. But I am unsure if they got that off a practice exam or they made their own.

I don't think the examiners look through every exam for every essay topic, otherwise it is kind of a disadvantage to those that have practiced that question by chance if they remove it.

I doubt it cause the prompts are written wayyyyy in advance and then go through tonnes of vetting. So at the end of the day it'll just be coincidence.

It would be pure coincidence. They write the exams and set out the marking guidelines months in advance.

Even if I saw a prompt on a sheet of paper in school and it turned out to be the prompt on the exam, what are the chances of me singling out that EXACT prompt and preparing a regurgitated response? Even then, VCAA put their own little touch on everything with the "to what extent" type questions.

Well it could be worded differently but still asking/revolving around the same thing. You see it in many trial  exams that the prompts are somewhat similar. I hope we get good topics though.

It would suck so bad if for text response, we got two very very good questions. then you'd have this mini conflict over which one you should choose.

Haha, but this scenario would be a lot better than getting 2 horrible topics (which is something evil vcaa is capable of doing!)

I would seriously love this. Right now, my biggest fear seems to be encountering a prompt/question I don't know how to sufficiently answer (hence why I've planned for like 30+ text response questions. I'm bound to get at least one similar)
