Im sorry, but why on earth would you need a dictionary?
And even if you dont know how to spell something, they're not marking you based on spelling.

Am I allowed to cry 'TROLL'? Or is this in the wrong forum?

LOL cant say I'm frustrated really. I saw it and I was like 'SAY WHAT?' Bewildered a bit, maybe.

I dont think they'd care much if you spelt distribhusion wrong. They'd think you're a fucking idiot, but I'm sure they'd get the point.

I would have thought the 3 previous posts were sufficient enough to answer your question, but obviously not.
The answer is no, you cannot take a dictionary into the exam- hope that helps :)

none of the 3 above posts you speak of answered the question at all. i am the one doing esl, you are the one doing english and you failed to see that.

i have yet to see any vcaa material that says you cant bring a dictionary. thats why i am asking.

Yes but this is ECONOMICS not ENGLISH. They are assessing you on concepts of which you should know the meanings/definitions of, so having dictionaries would be counterproductive and not to mention pointless. Either way, if you need a dictionary to find the meaning of a key concept then your fucked because you havent paid attention, or the word is insignificant enough that it wouldnt make a difference what the word meant.

Im sorry for not being clear and direct in answering your questtion, but I would have thought our bewilderment at your question made it clear that we thought dictionaries are not allowed.

The front of the exam paper states that "Students are permitted to bring into the examination room:pens, pencils, highlighters, erasers, sharpeners and ruler."
While it doesnt strictly say that Dictionaries are prohibited, one would assume because it is not listed as permitted material it is not permitted.

the question was

Define the term “mitigation” as it applies to the environmental policy
approach that has been adopted by the Australian government.

i do not remember ever learning that term as part of our economics course but at the same time the word is a significant part of the question and it does make a difference if i know it or not.

your sarcasm and mockery toward my question was no help. you should be smart enough to realise that. maybe not.
