Anyone have any predictions about what might be on the exam for Gwen Harwood poetry?

I was hoping so too, but in all honesty, nope. secret life of frogs, nightfall and lion's bride have all been on their TWICE each. so you really can't eliminate anything that's been on previous ones unfortunately... :l I'm HOPING for maybe prize giving and kitchen poem though. I would like lion's bride too but if there's anything we can predict it's probably not a third appearance.. but you never know! The violets or estuary would be nice too, and I like barn owl. What are your hopes?

In an ideal world, I would love to see:
- Spelling Prize
- Prize Giving
- Barn Owl
- Nightfall
- Slate
- Religious Instruction

Is there a chance that none of them would be on there?

I think we can rule out any of the poems that have been on there in '09 or '10. But perhaps not Night & Dreams because there are still lots of excerpts that haven't been used as an exam passage.

I don't think theres any I particularly DONT want... i'm not that keen on night and dreams 3 but could probably write something about it. Just in case, what would be the main things to write about if we got ND3?

oh and
2010 - nightfall, frogs, night and dreams 4
2009 – kitchen, lions bride, the twins

2009 would have actually been the best! Umm if you got ND3 you could mention that it's apart of a 4 of poems, central concerns prevelant are the idealistic celebration of family life and generations of family?

Hmm ... I'll put a wager on ... Barn Owl, Slate, Estuary. Or Ann Jennings, Mother Who Gave Me Life, Estuary.

Thank goodness Lion's Bride probably won't be there, a bit profound for my little drummer brain! But I'd love Barn Owl.

I never looked into the family thing, could you elaborate? And how could I link that to what Crab's doing?

Harlequin, PM'd you with a list of things on ND 4 . It's fairly extensive and subjective to your reading, but I got full marks on an essay I did with ND in it, so it could be good?

Ahaha aw you! It's fairly big but I did send it o: And yeah, it's one of the more confusing poems. I think it's disconnected from the whole idea of guilt and such? The dialogue doesn't make it any clearer =p

I'd basically be ecstatic with anything besides Night and dreams :P I don't hate it or anything I just cant identify a plethora of things to write about in terms of an interpretation
