Unimelb 1st year biomedicine books - SOLD BUT READ FOR ADVICE
« on: January 18, 2011, 10:32:46 pm »
Hey everyone!

Now that uni offers are like, it's time to get books. I'm in my 2nd year of biomed so I am offering my textbooks at substantial discounts.

J McMurry, Organic Chemistry 7th Ed, Thomson Brooks/Cole, 2008.
S S Zumdahl, Chemical Principles 6th Ed, Houghton Mifflin, 2008.
       + molecular model kit RRP $220 ---> $100

D Sadava, D M Hillis, H G Heller, M R Berenbaum, Life. 9th Ed. Sinaver/Freeman, 2009 RRP $140 -----> $80

R Knight, B Jones and S Field, College Physics: A Strategic Approach, 1st edition Addison-Wesley RRP $135 ----> $80 (note there is now a new edition but there have only been a few minor changes, I used it last year without any problems)

Just in case you're worried that these aren't the right books, I have included links above to the subjects you will do in first year: bio and chem are compulsory, while you can choose between physics + statistics AND bioengineering + linear algebra/calc. I would strongly suggest doing physics because it is a lot easier!

Hey guys,

I've been receiving a ton of random PMs and emails about the books, even though I sold them a year ago! I can't be bothered modifying this thread, so please read the following:
- http://www.facebook.com/groups/193390250700190 (Biomed facebook group, ask people there for books!)
- http://www.textbookexchange.com.au (you can get books there too)

The biomed student society also runs a second hand book sale early in the semester, so look out for that!

Congrats for getting into biomed and sorry about the confusion
