I'm new here, so be nice ;D

This may sound weird, but I need a little insight as to what this subject is about.. See I took one 3-4 subject in 2007 and now I would like to pick up another 3-4 subject so I can get a 6th subject. Business looks like the best choice, but have absolutely no idea what it is about. I looked at a couple of past Vcaa exams and the look do-able. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to FSN!!!
Ok lets get down to business (lame haha)
Um Well Business Management units 3+4 is about corporate management; simply put what large-scale organisations are, what they do, and how they operate. The concepts covered in Business Management are quite easy to understand, so you don't need to worry too much, what you do need to do is be able to build on that knowledge/demonstrate your knowledge through the use of current examples (this is where you need to do some research). If you have any further questions please ask =)

Hope that helps a little ^_^

Hi there and welcome to FSN. Business is a great subject, as it delivers a comprehensive and detailed overview of key concepts related to the business world. A large proportion of the content is often engaging and enlightening at times. Unit three examines large scale organisations in context. It looks at the contrabutions made by LSOs to society, what characterises an LSO and the functions and management roles in LSOs. Unit three also looks at styles that managers use to coordinate staff and relevant management skills utilised by managers. Unit three also looks at key elements of an operations plant and how a manager of an operations plant is continually aiming to improve competitiveness and maximise productivity. Unit four comprises human resource management and changd management. It looks at how human resource managers coordinate the employment cycle and the involvent human resource managers play in industrial disputes. Change management looks at how managers alter the activities and structures of an organisation due to various pressures in the internal and external environments such as employees and legislative compliance. Each area of study also links in with ethical and socially responsible management and the obligations employers have to their staff and society.  Business is in essence, a very straight forward and managable subject which is best suited to humanities subjects. Business requires a strong ability to express ideas fluently, coupled with the ability to flesh out your ideas and elaborate.  It also requires you to use real life business examples.  I trust that this information is valuable.  Good luck.
