An example of two independent events are "understanding conditional probability" and "understanding question 4c of Exam 1 2012"

BUT SERIOUSLY

Each flip of a coin is independent of the previous ones, since the coin doesn't remember what it did last time.

Independent events - not affected by previous events, eg, tossing a coin.
Dependent events aka conditional probability, depends on previous events, eg, drawing a ball out of a bag without replacement before drawing another ball out.
