on the melb uni booklist the 2nd textbook is the one shown, but the first one is still general anatomy -applications and principles.

Can 2nd year students confirm which one we need?

Thanks

You'll need the general anatomy for the first five weeks or so and grays anatomy for the rest. If you really want to save money, just get grays and borrow general anatomy from the library but you'll have to fight over them

Edit: the lecturer also writes his questions based on general anatomy so it's helpful to have one :P

You need GA more than Gray's in 2nd year though, most of what you learn isn't the detailed attachment sites/insertions etc.

And since the exams are heavily based on GA, I know which one I'd get

Not sure how different the biomed course was compared to Science but the general applications book was only good for the first 10 lectures + 1st quiz. I got clinically oriented by moore's and found it useful for most of the course.

You can get both these books including the atlas from the library but it would be impossible during the exam period given the huge spike in anatomy students

Definitely get Netter's for an atlas. Almost all lecturers will use Netter's images in their lecture slides and it helps having a corresponding fully labelled diagram. They also use Netter images on the second year exams if i remember correctly.
