Environments to Science?

I really wanted to get into Science at the UoM but didn't get a high enough ATAR. I have looked at the Bachelor of Environments however, and it has interested me. I am, however, not sure if I am prepared to commit to Environments.

Does anyone know/had any experience in transferring from Environments to Science?

Thanks

Actually, should I apply for an irregular offer into Environments or should I hope like hell and see if I could get into Science through the 2nd round offers?

Since it's at UoM, it's extremely unlikely that you will get a second round offer for Science, unless you qualify for SEAS
But yeah, if you do Environments, and you do really well, then you could always transfer into Science at the end of your first year I think
What is it that you want to do career wise?

Im not an expert... but I don't think Melbourne Uni is into this whole second round offers thing.. if someone could confirm this that would be great
Again, I don't know how irregular offers work, but if you can then I guess apply for Environments. What area were you originally planning to go into with a science degree? There are a few subjects that are common b/w sci and environments, so you could get them credited across if you are sucessful in transferring. I think the average required for transfer is something in the 70s, so aim for that (definitely achievable with some hard work)

Okay fair enough, I will apply for Environments then.

Too be honest I really don't know what I want to do, and that's why Science appealed to me; it has scope to do a range of different subjects.

Thanks for the help

No, they're not.  But that could be because of the extremely high demand.  Then again, they're not interested in the usual middle band selection either.

I'm planning on taking a gap year this year as well. Would it be stupid to just cut my losses and apply for next year, hoping the demand and hence the CIR go down?

Who knows which way the clearly-in will fluctuate for 2012. If 2011's clearly-ins were of any indication, people are catching on to the Melbourne model.
