Problems connecting to UniWireless from iPad

So I've tried many times to connect to UniWireless from the iPad and I can never seem to actually get a proper connection :-/ I followed the instructions of the uniwireless manual thingo and the wifi "connected" symbol shows up and makes it look like there is a connection there but when I try to actually browse the net, nothing works and errors keep coming up

I was just wondering, does/did anyone else have this problem? And is there some technical section in uni that could look into this for me??

Hrm, did you enter in all the information including the proxy? My iPad works with the wireless.

It may also be the iOS of your iPad. iOS5 has better and efficient connection to the wireless server compared to older versions.

As Richiie said, it's most likely you haven't put in the proxy settings, step 6 here;

Remember not to put the dot between www and proxy in: wwwproxy.student.unimelb.edu.au, use port 8000.
