VCE EXAM REMARK?

Hi!

I recently had my biology exam inspected at school for my 2011 exam. The teacher and myself both agreed that I should have received at least 3 marks more. However, the principal insists that there is no point in getting the exam remarked, because it is not going to affect your study score and thus the ATAR? Is this true? btw I got an A+ for my end of year exam.

I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME! :D

I assume you're in Year 11 so it shouldn't affect your ATAR score.

Only SAC and exam scores attained in units 3 & 4 across all subjects count towards your ATAR.
2012: English, Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths

ATAR Aim: 90.00+

Assuming it was 3/4 bio done in year 11, then an increased exam mark could improve your study score but:

Is the time period for remarks even still open?
I generally don't advocate exam remarks unless there's been a large miscarriage of justice - how blatant were the marks lost? 3 marks isn't a lot for a double marked exam paper.

From the calendar http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/calendar/index.html:
March 16th 2012: Final day for principals to lodge Student Examination Reassessment applications.
March 30 2012: All 2011 exam scripts and raw assessment data held at the VCAA are destroyed.
