i.e. it's easier to successfully graduate at a low ranking uni that a high ranking uni as in higher ranking unis they would make the assessment tasks tougher.

generally it is true because a lot say that education is easier on these institutions. but then it still depends on the person so it is best that you just have to be able to do your best no matter where you study and be able to know that as long as you did your best the rest will follow
sometimes though say if you are planning to get a job after graduation, some companies are really discriminating when it comes to where you are a graduate from sometimes regardless of what grade you have because they base this on what environment you got used to while studying which will build a lot on your personality so you might give this a thought, depending on your plans after graduation.
