I have my text response sac on twelve angry men next week and I'm so overwhelmed by the task I haven't really written anything to practice + have forgotten how to write text response.
I would be grateful if anyone could share their sample twelve angry men intros + body paragraphs, just so I can get back into it :S
here's what I wrote so far and then kind of gave up on:
Topic: Twelve Angry Men presents the view that all humans are flawed
In
Twelve Angry Men, playwright Reginald Roe utilises the decision to place a possible teenage delinquent in the face of death as a clever metaphor for the society of the 1950's in America, as well as society today. Through the portrayal of the lawyers and evidence presented, the jurors' behaviours and the American legal system, Rose portrays that in every human, there is a degree of imperfection.
Through the court proceedings, Rose communicates the flaws of humanity, exemplifying the seemingly half-hearted approach of the lawyers in the court room, as well as the questionable value of the witness testimonies. The lawyers, being "court-appointed", were assigned to this particular case that is "not a very promising situation for a young lawyer". The 8th Juror reasons that this indifference landed the defendant with a poorly considered portrayal of the possible crime. Through the lack of the lawyers' commitment, Rose represents the intrinsically human likelihood to only be willing to commit oneself to activities where the personal prospects are high. Just as the lawyers had not claimed full ownership of their responsibility, the witness testimony showcases the flaws of the human condition in several ways; both physical and mental. The female witness, who made "tremendous efforts to look 35 for her first public appearance", demonstrates.....
