Farewell to arms help!!

Hey guys

I really am struggling understanding the text of farewell to arms
I've read it twice already and planning to read it again
Was just won ringing anyone had sme notes on themes and main characters in this novel ? I read on spark notes and they don't really help me..

I'm also finding it difficult to find relevant quotes that I could use in my essays.. Anything anyone remembers would be awesome!!
