Lost 1 mark on a SAC 59/60. Can I still get a 50 study score

My last SAC was actually perfect as far as the marking criteria goes however my teacher hss decided to deduct a mark as I didn't submit it until the next day due to a small bug in my programm at the last minute. He told me that it's fine if I have it to him the next day which I did. But fairly enough I suppose he still deducted a mark. I am willing to accept that.

But my concern though is how much of an impact does 1 mark have. I hear things about rounding done in the calculation process which eliminates this. But is that right? If I got 100% on everything else would there be any actual difference between myself and someone with straight 100's. I do appologise if I am coming across as seeming a bit vain. But IT:DS is a class i'm relying on to ensure I get where I want to go.

Any experiances or knowledge on the way these things work is appreciated.
Thank you.

Absouletly, 1 mark off SACS does not really mean much as long as your ranked 1 in your school and you perform at a similar level on the exam then that 50 is yours. So don't fret over it too much mate, just move on.

I am ranked 2 now though. I don't plan on fretting to much over this. But over this past week... I have sweat, bleed and sacraficed many hours for this program. I also learnt the way I was doing thing, the same as my friends was not standard and spent several hours messing around with new stuff to do things properly all for this. I guess I should just KISS.. No more programming for the year though. *sigh*

Your teacher, if he rounds to the nearest integer, may round up to 30/30 or 40/40 (whatever the percentage of the total sac mark this one is). He doesn't give ranks; he gives scores. So you may still be equal rank 1.

Ok awesome! I have a feeling my teacher will be nice. He's a pretty top bloke. ;D

If I lose 1 mark on my next sac though... I may be in trouble. I've only just found the ITSD forums here though so hopefully I can prevent that from happening.

Yeah it's all about the rank. I had perfect sacs for units 3 &4 in SD but the only thing that guaranteed me was rank 1. It didn't help me in the exam room when I scored a low A+ :(

I take it that this lost mark was for U401 SAC. If so, go and kill the second outcome to get rank 1 back.

I don't like it how the gap between getting a 50 and a 40 are so small. For some subjects it's ridiculous. You can get darn near perfect scores but just get a couple of little things wrong which have such an impact.

I wouldn't be sure if getting 100 on the next class SAC could guarantee me spot 1 for 'unofficial' class rankings. But I will defiantly still try. I even had the thought of not sharing resources I'm finding online. But I couldn't do that, even if how well the rest of my class goes on exams didn't matter.

Good to hear :) just a question on your sac structure.. You said that you had to submit a day late due to a bug, is this meaning you're alowed to work on your sac tasks at home?
