Is anyone finding this subject just awfully boring and tedious? Row operations can go die in a hole. /rant

It doesn't improve. Very easy subject to fall asleep/get lost in   :(

LOL.  Linear Algebra.  Wait until you get to change of basis...

Then the real pain begins.  Or if you are coming from Calculus 1, when you get to subspaces, that's when things start to get pretty messy and start screwing with you.

By the end of the course, you'd be wishing you'd get row operations for 50% of the exam - tedious but easy.

Nah, coming from Calc 2 and found that relatively easy, but these tedious row operations have been coined by my tutor as "Grade 1 math" and to make sure we don't make a stupid mistake.

He/she is an idiot. It's maths, not math!

Not sure if UoM covers the gram-schimdt algorithm but that was way more tedious than row operations.

Also, proofs on change of basis and matrix transformations were basically a "wtf is going on" session.

Yep.  Don't sit on your backsides is my advice.  Once it hits you, it hits you hard.  And it takes to survivors nor does it show any mercy.
