Ahaha, I can't be bothered!! I'm so lazy!! I restore my system very frequently! So I can't be bothered installing AV all the time. But then again, I should do a back up with AV installed. But I can't be bothered doing that either :P

So if it is a damaged OS, is there a way to back up my data without having to re-install the OS, because that might wreck warranty :/

I highly doubt that reinstalling the OS would void the warranty.

To back up your data, you could use another computer to create an emergency boot disc or rescue disc.

Best thing to do would be to install a good back up utility like Acronis, onto another computer, plug this drive in and back it up. Then wipe it and reinstall. Reinstalling will not void the warranty, at least, not in the computers I've owned.. :)

But I think there's a warranty seal on the hdd, so I cant detach it without voiding thr warranty :/
So i managed to run startup repair and the results mention a 'corrupt registry', now i'm starting to doubt that my hdd is at fault. What is a boot disk, and how can I make one?
Thanks for your help

A boot disc contains a temporary, self-contained OS which you can use to recover whatever data you have on your hard drive.

You can use another computer to make one on a USB by following this guide.

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

After you've put ubuntu on the USB, you need to plug it into your laptop and boot it up from the USB. You might need to go into the BIOS to change the boot device priority. Once you manage to boot into ubuntu, follow this guide.

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install

You can attempt to copy your files to another hard drive using ubuntu and avoid voiding the warranty by removing the hard drive.
