Anyone can answer this really
I'm doing a presentation for english on the impacts of social networking on identity and belonging, and I need to know positive and negative effects of social networking.
I also really need a movie/tv series/song/quote/article/screenshot of social networking page convo/etc. to back up any statements, so please try and relate your opinion to something like that

Thanks in advance! :D

Have you watched the movie, "The Social network"? It might help you with your ideas.
Positive:
-Allows people to branch out and communicate with people easily and efficiently that they otherwise would not have done
-Allows people to meet new people
-Always in the loop to what is happening
-Have a secure sense of identity-as you belong to your wider group of friends

Negative:
-Gives people a false sense of identity and where they belong
-Very easy to re-create oneself
-Annoying
-Waste of time/effort
-..there are plenty more.

Arguably creates a new identity for some people, which IMO is a negative aspect of social networking.

Nah I haven't.. Can you please fill me in? Is there a specific scene which demonstrates it? Thanks :)

Zuckerberg becomes a billionaire by creating a social network platform based on the premise of people wanting to make connections… while he himself is unable to make any sort of genuine human connection. (the last scene is a classic example). http://youtu.be/8UhONY3-1os
