Hi - quick question.

My daughter is overseas and extremely upset when she saw her scores in the newspaper.  She had not given permission to VCAA but her scores have still been published.

Any idea what I should do?

Thanks.

Multiple times your daughter was given a sheet with adress etc. where she had to say if it is the correct information.
This sheet includes a box where you'd need to tick in order to hide the information.
If she didn't then well she didn't, hence she gave VCAA submission to publish her scores.

the school gives her a sheet which automatically has ticked the box which allows such scores over 40 to be distributed.  It is then up to the individual student to deselect this box.

She has a copy of whatever she submitted and she has not given permission. So will find out what happened.

Thanks

Most likely the best can happen is an apology from the school, it's always unfortunate when such admin errors occur :(

Anyways...
Only 40+ scores are being published and 40+ is without doubt an amazing score. Having a 40 means you are in the top 7.65% of the state in the respective subject.
Having a 46 already means you are in the top 1.11% of the state.
There is no reason why your daughter should hide her academic excellence

If they are published online you can contact the paper and they will happily remove the result from the online section for you
