Physics Question: Diffraction.

Hello, I have these two questions that I can't figure out. Question 1 you're shown a graph of light intensity vs. position along the screen, which represents the diffraction pattern produced by shining monochromatic light through a single slit. You are then asked to explain the diagram in terms of the actual diffraction pattern observed in this type of experiment. I thought that the graph would have decreasing light intensity as it gets further away from the central maximum though? and unsure what it means by 'in terms of actual diffraction'.
Question two shows you a diffraction situation and you must graph it on a light intensity vs position along screen and the co-ordinate (0,0) represents the edge of the object.
thank you for your help in advance! :)
