Hey guys,
I hate to be a drainer knowing all of you are studying but i've searched the forums and i couldn't find anything to do with this! I was wondering if someone could explain the Regional Continuity theory, as my text book vaguely explains it and i simply can't comprehend exactly what it is. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
P.S Good luck with the studying, only 11 days left!
Regional Continuity theory: modern humans evolved in different regions from existing H.erectus populations in each region. Basically, it means modern human appear throughout Africa, Asia, Europe during the same period and the variation in mtDNA should be equal in human population from all regions while Out of Africa hypothesis states that modern human originated in Africa and then migrated into Europe and Asia. However, from mtDNA evidence, it supports Out of Africa hypothesis as there is greater variation in mtDNA in Africa population than in other population.
