I can understand why you have requested a remark but as others have said, no one cares about their ATAR after offers are released. People complain about the GPA system in uni but personally I find it fairer and more rewarding.

Hope you get the car though :)

I find people only like a system when it works for them. To be honest, if I got an ATAR I wasn't expecting, I would be harsh on the system too.

I like the GPA system more because I find it objective compared to the inner-workings of VCAA's Lair. But that's just me.

I still find GPA a bit weird in how someone who gets all 90s gets the same GPA as someone who gets all 80s. (Will probably not say this when I start uni though :P)

Sorry, I was talking about straight averages GPA (more like WAM). I dislike the actual MED GPA (UoM only uses this GPA for Medicine apps) because it groups people together from 80-100 for example.

Didn't know that Med had a different GPA system. Thank you for informing me :). I think they do that so the GAMSAT becomes the main thing that determines who gets the interview. Ill rant about the 1:1:1 GAMSAT melb uni weighting another day.

What's wrong with the 1:1:1? The GAMSAT does it's job for Medicine applications and the GPA/Interview weeds out people. I think it's pretty good except I don't like how they get the GPA calculated.

The science section is close to 3 hours yet is worth the same as two essays (1 hour)... (Also I'm more of a science student :P Heck if it was up to me chuck some calculus, vectors and other cool maths in there as well). They should make the test the same as the MCAT (there taking the essay section out of it plus its becoming longer)

Off topic, there are threads to discuss MD entry and GAMSAT weighting etc.
UoM General Chat thread as well if you want advice on campus and where to go etc.

nb 1:1:1 and the GPA system are good things not bad :D
