Hello all, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.
Last year in Yr 10 I developed a very careless attitude towards studying/doing homework, leading me to fall behind sometimes.
The thing is, my teachers rarely checked homework if it wasn't an assignment, so I'd kinda be nonchalant towards most homework.
The two subjects that I would always keep up to date on were VCD and Chem/Physics, though towards the end of the year when it came to studying I once again failed to put in the effort. For most subjects when it came to a test or something similar I would usually only study on the morning of the day I had it, and I'd still get good results. I guess this trend led me to believe I could do something similar with exams, and of course I was horribly wrong. I failed two exams, Chinese and Chem/Physics. Luckily for me I had very good marks throughout the year for those two subjects so I was able to make it through to Yr11 Physics & Chinese.
This year I know I will have to put in a lot of effort, and I really want to. I'm doing Math Methods, despite Maths being one of my worst subjects (I'm surprised I even got into it), so I know I will have to study tonnes for that. I'm doing Chinese, and despite my good test results throughout my school career, I can still speak very little, mainly because I only learnt the words for said tests. I'm doing Legal 3&4, and I haven't even done 1&2. I'm also doing regular English, VCD 1&2 and as aforementioned, Physics.
So the real question is: What can I do to drastically improve my study habits this year?
Any advice is greatly appreciated, even if it's just about dealing with certain subjects or dealing with VCE as a whole.
I'm planning on getting a tutor for both Methods and Chinese, so I will need to put in even more work, but hopefully it pays off.
Thanks in advance!
