Bit of a noob question here but for group work in uni - assignments, projects, etc- do we get to choose our own groups or does the teacher assign them for us?

For my assignment for a breadth unit we could choose someone in our tute classes. Same goes for prac sessions, you just find someone in your prac class.

For ESD2 you get to choose your group for the first module then they make groups for following modules, I'm guessing it could be the same for ESD1.

It varies, really. I've had group assignments with assigned groups and group assignments where the students are free to select who to work with.
