I am asking of behalf of a friend who couldn't fo Maths Methods 3&4 due to a disability (LONG STORY) but did manage to do 1&2. She got into arts at Melbourne and is doing Introduction to Maths in Sem 1. If she does Calc 1 and Physics in Sem 2 and gets a really good GPA - what would be her chances of getting into science in 2014. She got an atar of 86.1 (Under 5 categories of the SEAS/access Melbourne)

What subjects would she need to pick? Would psychology get cross - creditted to Science?
AVAILABLE FOR TUTORING: F.M - psych - English

Her atar will be almost irrelevant once she completes a year of full time study; with her average the main consideration for transfer. An average of 75 or more should be competitive for a successful transfer application.

^ Pretty much said it.

That said, it's in her best interests to find as many science subjects that can be taken as a part of her Arts degree (which would not be very many at all, possibly Psych but that's about it) and to take as many breadth subjects as she can this year in Science disciplines to try to transfer over. They'll look specifically at her science subjects as breadth within her arts degree also if they're going to consider her application.

Good luck to her!
