Depends on the nature of your prospective degree. Naturally sell it (but not at a bookstore; gumtree.com.au or here) if you're enrolling in a major like Literature, since older models of CAS calculators become obsolete and hard to sell after awhile. But I find it invaluable for my Bachelor of Science, and it would very useful in Commerce, Engineering, etc. Scientific calculators don't allow the shortcut of finding x for chemistry problems, and I make stupid mistakes when I try and do them independent of a CAS. The time saved also adds up during exams, and most my exams approve of programmable calculators. It also means I don't have to do problems twice in case I made an error, since I can just look at the history on the calculator. I even check the history after statistics exams etc to compare answers with other students and we freak out when we discover we have different answers aha. Homework and revision is a lot faster with a CAS/graphics calculator too.
