Marking schemes

I've heard from my teacher that if a question in physics does not ask you for working then it is not necessary to provide it no matter how many marks the question is worth. Is this true? I doubt this because in all the trial exams from other companies there is always a marking scheme showing where to award marks on questions which are worth multiple marks.

I think it could be true, but why would you want to do so anyway?

That is correct - however, if you do provide working out, then you will be awarded method marks if you get the final answer wrong. So basically it is a risk to not provide it.
