Hi! I am " attempting " to study units 1 and 2 of Psych by myself. No school. No tutor. No help, Just me, my textbook and the internet. So for anyone who has completed units 1 and 2 of Psych......... Do you think it is possible? I know it depends on my analysing skills but assuming I am a " usual student" ;) then do you think it is possible?

Definitely, the concepts aren't very difficult. Why are you planning on learning it? If you are hoping to do 3/4 Psychology in the following year, you don't necessarily need to have done 1/2 (as the 98% of the concepts taught have no relevance to 3/4). Hope that helps

My main resource right now is time. I have time to do 1/2 and I hear that many of the thinking skills required in 1/2 is used in 3/4.

Save yourself some time and just learn research methods. Nothing else is all that relevant really :P

Psych 1/2 is incredibly dry, I'm honestly not sure if it's worth the effort. I did unit 1 and all we did was learn about theories of development and notable individuals... you might be better off just starting 3/4 Psych with a textbook in you're own time if you're super keen.

Wow! I never thought 1/2 would be so useless. Part of me still want to do it just to get a broader sense of Psych but I don't want to waste time just for that.

seriously psych 3/4 is such a standalone course, just go through the new grivas textbook and learn and understand the stuff and make notes on thing, people walked into psych 3/4 this year at my school knowing literally nothing but if you study the each topic that a sac is on by itself you will do well, 0 background knowledge required

Yes you can.. but wouldn't recommend it if its only for in preparation for unit 3 and 4. Focus on research methods only! and I would start reading through units 3 & 4 (if thats what your doing next year). I used "tutor on demand" for preparation for my exams, and it was great help! Good Luck!
