Totally possible mate.
Don't stress... The transfer you speak of will be a breeze if you work hard and hit that 75%. And doing a year of Arts sounds good anyway if there are non-commerce subjects you're interested in.
2008 - 2010 | Bachelor of Production @ Victorian College of the Arts
2013 - 2015 | Bachelor of Science @ UoM (Bioengineering Systems)
2016 - 2017 | Master of Engineering (Biomedical) @ UoM

75% is definitely achievable. However, keep in mind that internal transfers are not prioritised over external transfers. My friend wanted to transfer to B-Comm after a semester / year but is currently stuck in the BSc @ Melb because he wasn't able to meet the gpa required. If you're definitely set on B-Comm, maybe you should do B-Comm at a different uni then transfer to Melb?

+1 to post above.

Choose the course before the uni. Nothing worse than being stuck in a course you dont enjoy.
