Commerce or arts

Hello

I'm really conflicted as to whether I should choose Bachelor of Commerce (major in accounting&finance) or Bachelor of Arts (major in media and communications). So my question is: how hard does accounting and finance get? Also, if anyone who is currently doing either of the above would kindly offer their perspective on their majors, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you  :D ;D :)

I'd think long and hard about what you enjoy; as these 2 disciplines are completely different from each other. Accounting & Finance uses the quantitative/logical portion of your brain; whilst media & communication encourages the use of your more creative/artistic side.

Both offer different sorts of employment outcome:

- I'm not familiar with the roles that a B.Arts offer so I'll leave it to someone else to answer this
- With Accounting/Finance - roles as an Accountant, Banker or any office-based roles are open to an Accounting/Finance major. (It is the most flexible and employable dbl major offered at University as it prepares you for roles in any of the Financial/Corporate sectors)

i think the types of people it take that do media and communication and account + finance are very different, if you like people and humanities subjects and essays more than calculations then you should do media & comms, but if you like crunching numbers and working mathematically, then accounting and finance. commerces equivalent of media & comms is marketing. from what i hear marketing is psychology fused with media with a commerce-y spin to it, if you want commerce but like media & comms id say do marketing
