Methods lecture vs Chem lecture

So i've been given the opportunity to attend a head start lecture (only one), and im indecisive about which subject lecture I'd get more out of.

I'd say chem, because it's more theory-intensive than methods (where I'd think doing questions yourself would be a better way of improving)

Which chem head start lecture would you recommend going to?

Or if anyone else has some input of which ones are the best.

If I was to go to a lecture, it would never me a maths one. Definetely chem, in your case. But then again, it depends on your requirements.

As others have mentioned, the Chemistry lecture would probably be more beneficial because its more theory-based in comparison to a Math subject. The decision is entirely yours, but I recommend Chemistry!

Just another question, do you guys think it's better to equally focus on my english and my 4 other subjects equally, or rather, to neglect the subject I think i'll do poorly in (in my case it's chem) as it'll be in my bottom 2 anyway.

I strongly recommend you don't go into year 12 with the mentality that a subject will be in your bottom 2 or top 4. I had a friend who thought Further was her bottom, and she got 44. Didn't work at all; imagine she worked hard. She could have scored higher. Focus on each subject and give each as much time as you need to know the content really well

Are these lectures suggested/organized by school? If yes, I wouldn't go.

On the flipside, if you chose your top four now and focus on scoring well in them, it might be a lot more effective than focusing on five subjects equally and getting say, five 40s instead of four 45s and a 35. Top four obviously count far more to your ATAR, and that's definitely something to keep in mind.

Yeah this is precisely why i'm so torn. Both the arguments are so strong!
