Actually, can anyone answer this: I remember a few years ago someone telling me they did biomed at Melb or Monash and in the 2nd year of the 3 year undergraduate course they did the GAMSAT, and transferred into graduate medicine without completing their undergrad.. does this still happen anymore or is it off-limits now? I'm struggling to find clear information on this

That would have been dc302. He did Melb Sci in 2 years instead of 3 - he overloaded like crazy.

I only heard of people doing UMAT in first year and transferred to undergraduate med as a non-standard and people doing GAMSAT in the 2nd year (or 3 year) of their 3 year undergraduate course to get into graduate medicine after completing the 3 year undergraduate course.

Absolutely! Many people do that. I'd actually try my hardest to smash GAMSAT in Year 2.

Fantastic, thanks so much you guys, I actually have some hope for the future, haha I was just so devastated about getting to the interview and not getting MBBS Monash but like now I realise if I'm patient I can still get to the dream! Yeah, well I just need some more time to chill out from Year 12 and get all this sorted but later I'll be looking into GAMSAT preparation and will do it in the 2nd year like you suggest.

How did you find the GAMSAT in first year, Dedicated? Wasn't it held like halfway through Semester 2?

I found it easier then I thought it would have been given I didn't specifically study for it. Yeah it was held someday during Semester 2 forgot the actual day. I'm going to sit it again because I don't know if my score is high even for the MD.

(If anyone wanted to know) Monash updated their MBBS info about 5 days ago saying that VCE students may still be eligible for a 2nd round offer, so I guess this is new with the new selection process and interview in Jan ect.. :)
