Advice with subject selection (physics 1&2)

Is it a good idea to do Physics 2 if I haven't done Physics 1?

After some thought, I've decided that I want to major in Physics. but with how the pre-requisites for a 2nd/3rd year Physics are set up, you are kind of screwed if you don't do Physics 1 and 2 in first year.

I didn't pick Physics 1 in this semester, but the handbook for Physics 2 says a study score of >25 in VCE Physics is enough to get into the subject (a requirement which I meet), however I am concerned that I won't have some assumed background knowledge from Physics 1.

It's fine as long as:
-it is not a pre req for your 2nd/3rd year physics subjects
-you are adept at physics

I'd suggest checking to make sure you have the prereqs satisfied and then if they are, speak to someone who's done physics 1 and ask them what was covered. There is a far bit of physics 1 which is not covered in VCE physics.

Good luck!
