was the bound reference already written on paper which they binded for you, or did you need to have it in a digital format (like as a pdf. etc)?

Appreciate all responses  :)

Usually you would already have whatever you want to bind printed. If you bring in the digital format you'll have to print it there and that will cost extra money.

Hope that helps :)

Regarding Officeworks bindings, how long does it usually take? Do you have to leave it there and then come back later and pick it up? Or is it done in 2-5 mins?

Also, let's say you have something already bound, and it is falling apart. Can they 're-bind' it?

From my experience the binding only takes a couple minutes. You can watch them make it and then pay for it on the spot.

I don't know anything about re-binding.. Sorry. You can always ask the people at the desk :)

When I gave my further and methods printouts to be bound, I got them back a few days later. I think I went during a really busy time. Not only that, but both references were made up of other notes that I had from an old bound book, so what they did was cut off from where the old binding began and then re-binded from there if that makes sense. Luckily for me, the margins of my old book were pretty wide so nothing got cut off, but there's a risk something will be cut off in the process of re-binding.

This isnt entirely accurate. They're perfectly happy to both print and bind it for you. I went this route, they printed my digital notes and bound them.

Either way is fine. If its ready, they will bind it, assuming it meets their specifications (pages, size, thickness, etc). If they print it for you too, thats just another step.

I think when i requested binding i did it early in the morning and came back later in the day. Obviously, do it early as possible just as a precaution.

Of course. Their printing service is extra. They're a business, they're not about to give anything out for free :p. It is reasonable, i think i printed like 500 pages for like 30 bucks or something. Their prices may have gone up recently (or so i heard) but it's still pretty decent i guess. Ultimately, i recommend every student who ever prints things goes out and buys a laser printer (~$60-100 for the printer, comes with half a tank of ink, replacement ink off eBay $17 to print 2800 pages, works out to less than a single cent per page).
