Eyesight and headaches

I'm in Year 12 this year, studying English, Literature, Methods, Spec and Legal Studies. The study load has really increased since year 10, and lately I've been going to bed most nights with a headache.

After studying for 2-3 hours, my eyes become strained and I begin to develop a headache. I told my Mum about this and she took me to the optometrist. He told me my vision was perfect, but sold me some low-magnification readers to ease the strain.

I have tried this out lately and it has really helped me; it makes studying easier (the text is bigger), it outs less strain on my eyes, and people think I look smarter now that I wear glasses  ;D.

So what do you think of this study enhancement? Would you be willing to try it out? I highly reccomend it.

Thanks for bothering to read this  :)

I have Visual Snow and I have to wear yellow tinted glasses when I study most of the time or print out everything on yellow paper. Glasses with the purpose of making things bigger (reading glasses) make the symptoms of it worse. So I can't :( it's good that it has helped you out though.

^ That's what visual snow looks like, it's made my life so stressful lol.

I had the same problem when school gave us iPads in Year 10 and I have had magnification glasses ever since. They have made a massive difference (I probably don't wear them as much as I should though)

I know exactly what you mean! Before I got magnification glasses, reading on my iPad (and PC) was so damn difficult. Ever since I got my glasses, it is so much easier to read large PDF files that contain large, solid blocks of text.

Do you only use yours for your iPad, or do you use them for studying in general (I,e. reading novels, textbooks, class notes)?

I wear them pretty much full-time now because I lost my case and I get losing them, haha. The magnification in them isn't very strong, so they don't really impact how I see things far away (like street signs or the board in class)

Sounds like an unusual study enhancement. I guess it's worth a try if it helps...
