English revision lecture decision!

Hey guys, I know this topic has been discussed in generally now a lot!

But I have been faced with the decision between, attending the Connect Education lecture which has fantastic rep and the VATE lecture which will address the particular areas which I have studied.

So my question is those who have done well in English, besides your own intuition and study, in terms of the above two lectures which would you make your preference? For someone who can have the biggest improvements in English compared to Math/Science subjects?

Much appreciated guys, thank you!  :)

Well, I know that the Connect lecturer is quite brilliant and effective. I've heard from a good friend of mine who scored well that VATE was essentially a rehash of class material and didn't have any "groundbreaking" stuff that is super valuable. It probably comes down to what you need to work on more within the subject itself. Eg, are you comfortable enough with your texts but not with your writing, or are you comfortable enough with your writing or not with your texts? If it's neither, then I'd possible opt for Connect, because improving writing could go a longer way than improving your ideas (depending on how incondite your writing is).

I'd also think the average English student who's prepared determined to work for their score could self-study for texts better than they could improve their writing unassisted, so that would also direct me towards Connect.

Thank you Ned, I appreciate the advice.
I find my problem to be more writing, mainly just errors with expression throughout my writing. Where I try and over complicate the idea which I have, or don't explore the right aspects of my idea, getting lost on a bit of a irrelevant tangent.

Do you think I should opt for Connect? Yeah I definitely see where you are coming from, with the general resources of class, teacher, and myself, I  should be able to generate study about the text to a reasonable level.

Well, only conscious writing and conscious practice will help you with minor errors but there might be ways that Connect will prompt you to think about the task which will make it easier, which will in turn give you a greater capacity to focus on the smaller things.

You're welcome, Lachy :)
