So, from second year to the fourth year, we will all stay in hospitals? No need to go to uni at all?
I'm only in second year right now, so I might be a bit off here. But essentially yep, Years B to D are clinical years where you won't have any classes in uni. There are exceptions, for example if you're in Southern Health you may have tutes at the Clayton campus.
And will we be staying in the same hospital for all that three years or we are supposed to change hospitals during it?
So for Year B you are assigned a clinical school: Central, Eastern, or Southern. You will be in a hospital within that school. Some schools may have rotations, eg. Eastern will rotate students from Box Hill and Maroondah, but mostly in one or two hospitals in that clinical school.
I'm a bit shady on Years C and D, but for Year C I believe you rotate around clinical schools, and similar for Year D. That's a better question for someone like "shinny" though (completing 5th year now).
Do we get to choose which hospital we go to or we are assigned to each hospitals?
Not anymore, it is essentially random with no swapping allowed. There is talk though that the weakest students get preference at Alfred and MMC, but I can't confirm that.
Are these hospitals all Monash affiliated?
They are all teaching hospitals, yes. I think they're all public except for Cabrini too.
When it comes to finding internships, does gippsland's mbbs have any advantage or disadvantage over clayton's mbbs?
If anything you probably have an advantage given that you have an additional degree as well as an MBBS which will probably help in EBCVs (evidence based CVs) that are becoming increasingly popular.
