Is anyone familiar with the Lingofile workbook for Eng Lang? It's relatively new and I'd appreciate if anyone could review it. Thanks.

(Sorry grannysmith for not having an answer but) I'd like to second this request :)
Lingofile is on my school's booklist but I don't want to buy it if it's useless..

Okay so I just received the book today, and from first impressions it seems really comprehensive.
Essentially, it comprises of 9 mini tests (called 'Files') each of which containing a different transcript/written text and focussing on different aspects of metalanguage. Each 'file' contains a set of exercises, short answer questions and usually an analytical commentary section. So it seems like really good practice.
The book does state that some of the material within the workbook are extracts from previously published Boobook trial examinations.
In addition, it comes with detailed solutions that complement the questions (eg a sample analytical commentary).
All in all, I'd definitely recommend the book (y). :)

Thanks for the review grannysmith! It sounds like a decent EL investment :)
Just wondering, how much did you buy yours for? And which site?

No worries :D
I bought it for $35.99 at Link Educational Supplies, as it's my local textbook store. I think you can purchase it on the actual website (Boobook) however it ends up being similar in cost when your factor in shipping/handling.
