Holiday catch-up if I've skipped Eng Lang 1/2?

Hey guys,

As someone who's picked up English Language 3/4 without the 1/2 for next year, I was wondering what were the most important aspects of the 1/2 course to revise over the holidays? From what I can tell, most people, including my teacher, have said it's mainly the language subsystems that I need to go over. If, in your experiences, however, there were any other important sections to go over during the summer break, please let me know! Thanks

Hey there!

Yes, your teacher is right in that regard - I would go through all of the metalanguage needed for Units 1/2. You can find a complete metalanguage list for Units 1/2 here: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/englishlanguage/englang-sd-2012.pdf

Be sure to go to page 11 onwards. Here I would recommend you go through each of the terms and define each of them in a Word document (so essentially you're developing a vocab list).
