Oral help ;'(

So I finished my oral speech on Euthanasia only to realise that I can't do that topic because of its 'old' content/ issue which my teacher is quite adamant in removing so I've decided to take on another issue, which is whether Tony Abbott's stubborness is a positive quality in light of the recent speculation on the news that his politicians want a 'spill' a new leader. Esentially whether Tony Abbot is fit to be our Prime Minister for us Australians. The problem is I'm not sure where to start/ where to start researching as I'm constantly going blank, so I'd like if anyone had any ideas as to where I could go with the issue. Thanks in advance.

That's quite cruel given this issue has only just started to unfold. How long do you have to write your speech? Given that the spill is due to happen at 9 am tomorrow (at least it was scheduled for then as of ~8:30 this morning) it might be best to wait until then before finding any specific arguments.
ABC News 24 is good for the blanket coverage, and they've been going to some lengths to understand and explain the inner-workings of a leadership spill, so stick with them over the commercial channels (no joke - flicked on to channel 7 this morning and it was at least 10 minutes worth of 'omg I wonder what will happen! Anything could happen! This is so exciting! What do you think will happen? Let's check the twitter feed!!')

You could always look at things from a more theoretical point of view, as in, discuss the nature of politics and representation. If you're even remotely interested in the statistics, there's been debate in the wake of many state elections about whether our form of voting ('first past the post') is truly better than 'proportional representation.' Otherwise you could examine the idea of negative campaigns and the fact that, nowadays, it seems like people vote out a government instead of vote one in.

No shortage of news articles covering this issue, so browse through as the story unfolds and hopefully you'll have something tangible to argue soon :)

Rough on the euthanasia thing; personally I think it's a completely legitimate topic based on some of the media it's received lately with Philip Nitschke.

To add to what Lauren's said (which is seldom possible to do :p), you may want to have a look at the historical context as well. You may like to look at how PMs actually tend to get removed from office—believe it or not, the majority of the time PMs are actually not voted out. You may also like to look at previous leadership contests just to get a bit of an idea of the dynamics behind them. Rudd v Gillard v Rudd v Gillard v Rudd, Keating v Hawke, Peacock v Howard and even Costello v Howard are good ones to look at.

In terms of actually addressing Abbott's leadership style, you may want to look into his history a bit. If you've got the time, Political Animal by David Marr is a nice short book about Abbott and the type of person he is. In my opinion, it goes a long way to explain Abbott's combative style of leadership. It's also worth thinking about the reasons the government was elected and the limitations on the government because of them. After all, Abbott did some up the coalition perfectly the past few days: "we are not Labor". You could very well take that quote and really wind some good analysis around it.
