http://www.umed.edu.au/                                           <<comparisons of UMAT companies website

it might be a bit late but there is still time to prepare for UMAT, this site compares all the existing UMAT (australian/new zealand) companies and gives them ratings in different categories.

Its pretty good, maybe VCEnotes could do something like this for vce subjects lectures/ companies?

I'd be very skeptical of that website. It could well be that the owner of that website might be the owner of the NIE business attempting to give himself more promotion.

Yeh, didn't need go to the lengths of an IP check LOL

And for all those who didn't get what I meant, scroll down on the umed page to see "Whilst this site is owned by the national institute of education it strives to remain objective. Please contact nie should you have any qualms". *facepalm* However, the information on that page is actually still quite useful and objective (except the 'student rating' and 'interview prep rating'). What isn't objective is the criteria that they decided to list which in the end heavily favours NIE themselves.

In the end, I'd recommend MedEntry since that's what I used myself and I know it's half decent.

abit of a late reply, but for the VCEer of next year, who's going to do the UMAT, i would recommend also MedEntry
i went to them for their workshop during one of the school holidays with a few friends as they offer group discounts.

i found that the materials (most, if not all, online) they provided are very close to the actual UMAT papers.
you also have access to an online program (called eureka if i remember right) which generates endless amounts puzzles similar to those of section 3, and after you've attempted one it will give you the answer and how it was obtained.

you also have access to 10 full length trial exams (3 sections per exam) and about 20 x 20minute drills for each section of the UMAT. and each section of divided into smaller sections (for example section 3, theres "Pick the middle, What comes next, etc...).

for anything thinking of going to MedEntry, i'd recommend they make a plan for the drills and the practice exams, as i was stupid enough to leave everything to the last minute and only managed to finish about 5 of the 10 practice exams.

I found it quite crap. The only thing I liked from this company was the food they provided :P (I once grabbed the whole bowl of chocolate eclairs they had and poured it into my bag  when no one was looking :P and someone else walked out with an unopened box of Tee Vee snacks :P).
The notes they provide for you...they are of a photocopied kind. This company probably stoled it from some other place (or another place stoled it from them because my sister managed to get a PDF files of the same notes but I think different company...Hmm...)

From doing the UMAT this year and doing medentry, I'd stay that about 10-15 questons from med entry  were almost an exact replica to the actual UMAT. Maybe, even more cos' i didnt get to complete it!
