currently studying unit 3 English language VCE:

up to my cuttings journal so I need to annotate, etc. I was wondering if anyone can write me a short and simple guide/structure. for example...

'The Moon is a barren, rocky world without air and water. It has dark lava plain on its surface. The Moon is filled wit craters. It has no light of its own. It gets its light from the Sun. The Moo keeps changing its shape as it moves round the Earth. It spins on its axis in 27.3 days stars were named after the Edwin Aldrin were the first ones to set their foot on the Moon on 21 July 1969 They reached the Moon in their space craft named Apollo II.'

how do I analyse the...

phonetics -
morphology -
lexicology -
syntax -
discourse -
semantics -

any other tips or anything else I need to add? -

I would seriously appreciate your help if you could help me out please!  :)

Just remember to focus on the most appropriate subsystems in a text which is really determined by its purpose(s). For example, the above text is to inform about facts pertaining to the Moon. Hence, it is heavily composed of simple and declarative sentences (syntax), and there are some instances of the agentless passive (why is this significant?). You can also talk about cohesion (the use of anaphoric referencing). There are other things you can analyse but I hope this gives you an idea! Good luck

i appreciate at granny smith, is it possible without being annoying to give me more information, considering you defined it so clearly, it would be so great. for example, when you gave me an example of syntax, then listed syntax in brackets! :)

Sure thing :)

Declarative sentences, which are often structured as simple sentences, are employed to clearly convey the information pertaining to the Moon e.g. "It has dark lava plain on its surface", "The moon is filled with craters". Also, the third person singularsubject pronoun "it" is used as a cohesive device to refer to the aforementioned 'Moon', which is an example of anaphoric referencing. You could also argue that there is evidence of parallel sentences (parallelism) i.e. "It has no light of its own. It gets its light from the sun". This is primarily used to again, explicitly state the fact that it does not produce its own light but rather reflects the rays of the sun. Such use of parallelism may be used to rebuke the common misconception that the Moon produces its own light.

Hope this helps
