Studies and field notes collection thread for Unit 4 Area of Study 2: group and individual identity

I am struggling to find studies from linguists about langauge use according to age, professional jargon and gender.
Anything anyone?

I have tried finding some from Living the Lingo an have found close to none.
Thanks

The best way to find anything to do with Unit 4 AOS 2 and linguist quotes would be go to Google and type in:

"young people slang linguist" or "caitlyn jenner linguist" and go from there.

You need to pick out keywords and then add 'linguist' at the end to ensure that Google can search for relevant quotes. Typing in phrases like 'slang quotes' will not work at all.

Check this out as an example: https://www.google.com/search?q=jargon+linguist&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=jargon+in-group+solidarity+linguist

I hope that helps!
