CAUSATION vs CORRELATION

Hi! Can someone briefly explain these two concepts to me and also explain which ones are useful for the UMAT? I have heard that logic based on causation is not strong  but correlation is strong, so if i see an answer using causational logic then it is weaker then an answer using correlative reasoning? :( I am a bit confused. Sorry if this is a weird question.
