Subject Preparation?

Hey Guys!   :D :D
Just wanted some advice on how I should prepare for Year 12 next year, my subjects are English Language, Chemistry, Methods and Specialist which all require a large amount of work. I would really like to take advantage of these holidays and wanted some key areas I should focus on for any of the four subjects which could really assist next year. Would love feedback from past students and how they formulated their studies as well as present students who will be going into them next year and how they wish to prepare themselves. ;D

Thanks in advance fellow Students!
Sincerely, Stuart.

Read books on language such as Australian English, Language and identity, etc. I even liked reading some socio-linguistical books such as the "The secret life of pronouns" for identity topics.

I don't remember what I did for methods and I didn't do your other subjects

Before starting any of my subjects, I read through the study design to at least gain a vague understanding of what I was getting myself into. I also made a list of all the topics so that throughout the year I could check them off.

Subject-wise:
Chemistry
Revise Year 11 Topics (Chemistry Units 1,2 Topics required for Units 3,4 list in spoiler)
Spoiler
- Calculations with the mole - find molar mass, mass, concentration, volume, pressure (PV=nRT)
- Organic Chemistry - nomenclature
- Bonding - Intramolecular (metallic, ionic, covalent) and Intermolecular (dipole-dipole, dispersion forces, H-bonds etc)
- Acid-Base Chemistry - neutralisation reactions, weak vs strong acids
- Redox and Galvanic Cells
- Volumetric Analysis (understanding acid-base reactions), Gravimetric Analysis (understanding precipitation reactions)
How to get ahead:
read textbook -> watch videos -> make notes -> try textbook questions (or StudyOn - a supplementary book/ online question bank by Jacaranda if you have it)

If you want more, attending some lectures by AtarNotes or TSFX can also be really helpful. Also they give you notes which, for me, was great cause I'm a bit lazy when it comes to writing my own notes. :)

Methods and Specialist
For me, the only way to improve in maths is to do questions (from the textbook, practice exams, NEAP, A+, ExamPro, etc etc). And once again, have a quick revision of 1,2 topics cause they will be needed during 3,4.
2014 - Math Methods CAS, Chinese SL
2015 - English, Specialist, Chemistry, Physics, Biology
2016-2020 - Monash University, Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) :D
