Realistic answer is that 75 is unlikely but possible, and 76 is only a little bit better. Speaking generally* I mean, obviously your competition will vary from year to year. You may well get in this year, but if not, there's always next year. Mid-year intake is apparently less difficult**, because there's less competition and the people you're competing with are likely people who have previously failed to get in and therefore may not have super competitive WAMs in the first place.

*Based on conversations with law SS, successful law transferees and posts I've seen on AN.
**Based on my own successful transfer with a low-ish WAM + a single conversation with law SS earlier this year.

Wow, this is actually pretty low (in my opinion). It's been ridiculously easy getting HDs in Arts compared to the score needed for entry direct from VCE.
I don't know how many arts units you've done, but your experience is definitely not representative. Of course, getting a credit or distinction in an arts unit is way easier than in some other faculties, but arts units are extremely stingy when it comes to awarding HDs.

Hey guys, just chipping in to ask another question. The JD is a 5.2/7 GPA and a 6.3 /7 for a CPS place. I was wondering, what is a 6.3/7 equivalent to in terms to the WAM?

Well I don't think that you can really compare the 'difficulties' of courses at all, but I did German 7/8 (3rd/4th year subjects) and they were much easier than VCE on the whole. Not conceptually, but given the amount of work I did in VCE compared with the amount of work I did this year they were fine. I also did history and it was definitely harder than it was in year 12 but I did maybe 1/2 of the work I did last year and managed to average 85+.

Getting an HD average at uni is much much easier than getting an >98 ATAR, but it is still not easy to get an HD average at uni, and many students will never get an HD in their degree at all, especially in Arts.

VCE is intense and uni is more cruisy which makes a lot of the difference imo.

Actually on topic:  with a 75/76 average you have a decent chance of getting in from what I have heard. But more generally, it's not worth concerning yourself with, I understand it's on your mind and is important, but it is summer now and there is nothing you can do to change your average at the moment, I think it's best to let things fall where they do and then try to improve next year if you end up needing a higher average, and if you do get into law, congrats and cya 'round the lawbry.

I think the grades change depending what course you want to transfer into because some are more competitive than others, meaning there's a whole bunch more people trying to get into something like arts/law over something like dietetics (just for a comparison). I also got told that you would need at least a credit average to transfer to a Caulfield course and distinction for a Clayton one. If it helps you, my transfer for l got rejected and I had a low credit average. Good luck :)

Edit; for law, I think you could have a chance. I've heard 70-80 is usually competitive but like others have mentioned, grades are hugely dependent on the competition for that year.

Congrats!!

Do we get any confirmation after accepting the offer through askmonash?

And also, do we need to do anything else after accepting until enrollment on January 22? I'm a bit unsure from the e-mail!

Yeah the email isn't very clear. I reckon once you've accepted via askmonash they'll update your wes and then you'll have to enrol again like you did for your previous course (e.g. personal details, fee-help, units etc...)
