Travel light and anything will do. Don't overthink this at all.

A few pens and papers, anything will be a good bag for you.

You very rarely need textbooks, if you do, they can be borrowed on a short term loan basis (few hours) from your university library and returned that same day.

I did bring textbooks occasionally and i snapped the shoulder strap right off my satchel. I learned my lesson.
