All About Eve Prompt

Hi everyone! I've been given the essay topic: ''All About Eve' demonstrates that women must make difficult choices if they are to have successful careers'.
I seem to have trouble structuring my essay. I often hear people tell me to have three arguments, but some of these essays are not argument based, but rather ideas. I tend to begin brainstorming with examples from the text, but I just can't seem group them together. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there,

Some of the advice in this thread might help you out with your initial concerns, but in general, essay structure is up to you
(and your teacher's preferences). You do need to have a contention in Text Response - which is a kind of 'argument' but isn't a 100% definitive argument like 'all the women in the film are weak' or anything silly like that - and each of your body paragraphs should contain sub-arguments that support your main interpretation.

Is there anything in particular you're struggling with in terms of essay structure? Is it that initial planning stage where you're not sure how to sort out your points, or is it a problem you face whilst writing where you don't know which evidence to use?
